How does it work?

At Jewish Travel Buddies we believe in the KISS way of doing things (that's "keep it simple stupid" for the uninitiated!). You can search our database for a travel buddy with similar interests absolutely free of charge and then, once you have completed our simple registration form and validated your email address (to stop spammers ruining it for everyone) you can contact as many members as you wish, join in discussions in our forum and even have an instant chat with other members.

How do I join?

For full access to the site and to contact as many members as you wish, simply complete a short registration form, validate your email address and you are away.

Is there a charge?

We have introduced a nominal membership fee of £25 per year for full access to the site. This also enables you to make and receive unlimited contacts with other members

Is it safe to travel with strangers?

With jewishtravelbuddies.com, you are in complete control of your online experience and should only share information about yourself once you are comfortable doing so. Trust your instincts and use common sense just like you would offline. Using your own good judgment is your best tool because, ultimately, you are responsible for your own experience. You control the pace of the relationship. You can remain anonymous until you feel ready, communicate with members at your own discretion, and decide when itís time to take your online relationship offline.

One advantage of meeting online is that you can find out the other person's interests before communicating and learn about them before meeting in-person. When you decide to meet face to face, pick a public place and provide your own transportation to and from the location. Restaurants, coffee shops and shopping centres are examples of public places; private homes or hotel rooms are not. Before meeting up, always tell a friend or family member where you are going and check-in with them when you return home.

In the forums and chat rooms never include your personal contact information in your profile. Examples of the kind of information you should not include in your profile include telephone numbers, email addresses, IM addresses, your home or work address, and your last name. Passwords should be unique, not a version of your name or birth date. Ask a lot of questions. Stay away from anyone who won't take no for an answer or pressures you for any kind of personal information. Never send money to someone you meet online.

Remember, use common sense and you could make lifelong friends with your new travel buddies; after all, a stranger is only someone you haven't met yet.

Are my personal details secure?

Yes. Your email address does not appear anywhere on the site. If you wish to contact another member then your email address is sent directly to them behind the scenes so that they can get in touch with you. We hate spam too and would never sell or rent your details to anyone else.

Do you make travel arrangements for me?

Not directly, but if you are looking for 4 or 5 star bespoke help then our colleagues at Beaver Travel will be pleased to do so.

How do I contact you?

Please email us via the link in the footer (down there at the bottom of the page).
